ACTNews, GAZA
- Towards sunset on Monday (5/10/2021), Israel launched an air strike on
the Gaza Strip, killing 22 people. 9 of whom were children, and 106 others were
injured.
Based on the
report from the Aksi Cepat Tanggap in Gaza, the fatalities were mostly from the
Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, Deir Al Balah Mid area, and Nusairat The explosions hit
almost all of the Gaza Strip.
This attack
continued until midnight. The dark night sky in Gaza turned red after the
missiles that flew over the buildings. Several structures were destroyed by the
airstrike, leading to thick smoke that billowed above the roofs.
"Israeli
attacks continue to this day, and we still hear the sounds of explosions.
Random attacks target homes, children, and farmlands. Please pray that Allah
will protect Gaza and the Palestinian people from these attacks,” reported ACT
Palestine Branch Manager Tahany Ahmed Qasim directly from Gaza.
Tahany explained
that all Gazans could not sleep that night because they were afraid of the
explosions that occurred everywhere. She continued, this aggression adds to the
record of violence committed by Israel. Previously, Israel expelled the
Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem and attacked worshippers
inside Al-Aqsa mosque.
The expulsion of
Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah left 500 people losing their
homes while the attack in Al Aqsa left 520 people injured and rushed to the
nearest medical center.
Indonesian Medical
Clinic in Gaza recorded that over 10 victims of the airstrike were currently
struggling to live and were receiving intensive care.
When the airstrike took place, the Gazans were running for their lives. Yet, no place
seemed safe for the Palestinians in Gaza because the airstrike indiscriminately
hit the Palestinians, including children and residential areas. []
