ACTNews, PANDEGLANG – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Banten distributed clean water to three villages in Picung Subdistrict and Sukaresmi Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency. The distribution of 40,000 liters of clean water was carried out for three consecutive days, starting from Friday (7/26) to Sunday (7/28). The villages that were reached included Pasir Sedang and Pasir Panjang villages in Picung subdistrict and Kubang Kampil 11 village in Sukaresmi Subdistrict.
Sukmajaya from the ACT Banten Program Team said that tens of thousands of liters of water that were distributed were ACT Banten's initial response in overcoming the drought in Pandeglang. "This is a first step of ACT’s serious efforts in tackling the drought that has hit Banten. In fact, we plan to build irrigation wells in the three villages affected by this drought," explained Sukmajaya.
The residents who received tens of thousands of clean water were very grateful, one of whom was Ivan, the village head of Pasir Panjang. "Apart from the government, ACT has just sent clean water," said Ivan.
Tens of thousands of liters of clean water reached 2,061 people in the three villages. "Of course the distribution of clean water will not only stop in Pandeglang, but also all regencies and cities in Banten that experience drought. We also want to collaborate with the government and all elements of society to overcome this drought," added Sukmajaya.
