
ACTNews, BOGOR - Flash flood hit hundreds of houses in Puncak area, Cisarua
District, Bogor Regency, Tuesday (1/19/2021). The flood damaged houses and
blocked many roads around the area.
Bogor’s Regional
Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD)’s Operation Control Center (Pusdalops)
reported that, by Tuesday (1/19/2021) at 1:50 p.m., 900 residents were affected
by the flood. As many as 464 people from 134 families were temporarily
evacuated to safer places around the location. Meanwhile, joint officers from
BPBD, TAGANA, Indonesian Armed and Police forces were on standby at the location
to help evacuate residents.
"There have
been no reports of casualties so far, but the local residents have been
evacuated to safety," said Taufik, Head of TAGANA Bogor Regency.
The flood is caused
by rain that has fallen since Monday (1/18/2021), causing the Ciliwung River to
overflow. Responding to this disaster, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat
Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Bogor immediately dispatched their personnel to the
location.
"Insha Allah,
MRI Greater Bogor volunteers will immediately go to the flood-hit location for
further assessment. While focusing on evacuation, we will also bring basic
supplies for the evacuees as well as medical team for emergency situations,”
said Khisnul.
