ACTNews, EAST ACEH – The Waqf Well built at Baiturrahman Mosque, Sarah Teubee Village, Rantau Selamat District, East Aceh, was officially used on Friday (9/17/2021). Global Wakaf team also added toilets to support worship activities and the water needs of residents. This Waqf Well was a gift from benefactors who sent their waqf through Global Wakaf-ACT.
Usmanuddin, Head of Sarah Teube Village, and volunteers from Masyarakat Relawab Indonesia (MRI) East Aceh attended the inauguration of the Waqf Well. In his speech, Usmanuddin expressed his joy because the construction of the Waqf Well has been completed and has produced clean water for various purposes.
“Alhamdulillah, we are happy with this Waqf Well. It makes easy to access clean water for daily needs and worship at the mosque," he said.
Water is an urgent need for residents around Baiturrahman Mosque. The water is cloudy and unfit for consumption. In the dry season, they experience a water crisis.
Aris Munandar, Head of MRI East Aceh, hopes that this Waqf Well can be beneficial and well cared for by residents. Hence, this Waqf Well can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
"Please pray and support so many Waqf Wells can be built in other areas," said Aris.
