A Young Man Donates to Palestine through His Food Business

Collaborating with the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), Ikhsan raises funds through his culinary business ‘Kebab Yasmin’. The collaboration has been going on for the past five months.

Even though he can’t directly come to Palestine, for Ikhsan, support through prayers and donations are enough to help Palestine.

ACTNews, BANJARMASIN – Various support for Palestine continues to flow. Most of the support is initiated by the community from many backgrounds through various actions, starting from peaceful actions to fundraising events on the street.

Ikhsan, who apparently is the owner of the ‘Kebab Yasmin’ shop, chose to donate to Palestine through his selling food. His culinary business has been running for the past year. Not only Kebab, but the shop also sells various menus of food and beverages.

Ikhsan explained that part of the income from his selling has been allotted for the struggle of Palestinians by collaborating with the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). The collaboration has been going on for the past five months.

“We are collaborating with ACT since they are the first foundation who facilitate people to help Palestine. Since then, our trust has grown to entrust our donation to ACT. Moreover, we also receive good feedback,” said Ikhsan when he was visited by the ACT team in his shop last May.

Ikhsan said that he has never been to Palestine. He only saw the condition in Palestine through his social media. Though he can only watch through a digital screen, Ikhsan feels sorry for what has happened to the Palestinians including when Israeli forces attacked the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians who were praying there on the last day of Ramadan.

“Because our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters who have been oppressed are there. One of the ulemas said, ‘is there any place left for us other than Palestine, especially the Al Quds? Where else should we send our jariyah alms to them?’” said Ikhsan.

He added that even though he can’t physically be present in Palestine, assistance in the form of prayers and financial support should be enough to help their struggles to be free from the Israeli zionists' colonization.

“Hopefully, the Palestinians can be patient to face this test. May Allah give His best blessings for us Muslims,” hoped Ikhsan.

On the other hand, the Branch Manager of ACT South Kalimantan, Zainal Arifin explained that what has been done by Ikhsan through his ‘Kebab Yasmin’ business is a noble step since there are many ways that can be carried out by the community to support Palestine.

“One of them is by selling food and allot part of the income to help the Palestinians. We appreciate ‘Kebab Yasmin’ for what has been done to help Palestine,” said Zainal.[]
