ACTNews, ACEH BESAR – ACT Aceh, Aceh Wakaf Corporation, and Government of Aceh Besar Regency dispatched humanitarian vehicles containing 10 tons of rice through Free Food Operation (OPG) program in the courtyard of Aceh Besar Regent Office, Monday (7/12/2021). The rice from Free Food Operation was distributed to people affected by the pandemic, especially the Islamic boarding schools.
The distribution was the first aid distribution from Aceh Wakaf Corporation through Free Food Operation program. The rice would be distributed to 10 boarding schools in Aceh Besar.
“We are about to distribute 10 tons of Waqf Rice. The distribution locations include Islamic boarding schools and flood evacuation sites in Aceh Besar. This is a form of concern from Aceh Wakaf Corporation and ACT for people affected by the pandemic. Hopefully, the benefits can be enjoyed by thousands of students," said Husaini, President Director of Aceh Wakaf Corporation, Monday (7/12/2021).
Free Food Operation is a manifestation of ACT's concern for the people who face difficulties during the pandemic. This program is ready to support the food needs of Aceh residents amid economic difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Zulfurqan, Branch Manager of ACT Aceh, said that the program is a humanitarian collaboration between Aceh Besar District Government, Ulama Consultative Council of Aceh (MPU), Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) of Aceh Besar, and Aceh Wakaf Corporation. They unite to save the nation from the pandemic.
“We store the rice that will be distributed at the Aceh Wakaf Distribution Center (WDC)-ACT so that we can distribute it later. Today, we distributed 10 tons of rice to 4,629 beneficiaries in Aceh Besar region,” said Zulfurqan.
