ACTNews, PASAMAN
– The earthquake that rocked Pasaman was followed by a flash flood that
caused the water sources in the area of Nagari Malampah, Tigo Nagari District,
Pasaman, to be polluted by debris.
Emi, a local
resident, told ACTNews that getting clean water had been quite difficult after
the disaster. “I had to walk one kilometer just for clean water,” she said.
Aksi Cepat Tanggap
(ACT) together with the West Sumatra Regional Office of Bank Indonesia worked
together to solve the lack of clean water in Nagari Malampah. On Saturday (3/19/2022),
10 water tanks were handed over to the villagers of ten hamlets in Nagari Malampah.
“One unit will be
able to supply clean water to 15 to 20 families,” explained the ACT West
Sumatra Branch Manager Aan Saputra.
The water tanks were
distributed at ten locations namely Siparayo, Padang Hamlet Mosque, Baitul Amal
Mosque in Melayu Hamlet, Nurul Haq Mosque, Pisang Hamlet, Nurul Iman Mosque,
Tokeang Hamlet, and Rawang Hamlet.
“The locals were
very grateful for the water tanks. We truly hope that what we have helped
provide will benefit them immensely," added Aan.[]
