ACTNews, LUMAJANG – In an effort to support the food need of Mount Semeru eruption survivors, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) with the help of Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) volunteers and the Humanity Food Truck has served up to hundreds of portions of meal packages a day.
Kusmayadi, the Commander of ACT’s Disaster Emergency Response and Relief Management, said that as of Monday (6/12/2021), hundreds of meal packages had been distributed to the evacuees in Oro-Oro Ombo Village in Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency. The recipients were evacuees staying at a local school.
“At this evacuation point, the survivors have not been able to properly meet their food needs. Everything is limited in the evacuation point, and the evacuees solely depend on humanitarian assistance,” said Kusmayadi.
To further optimize the distribution of aid to Mount Semeru eruption survivors, ACT opened several humanitarian command posts and public kitchens. The main command post is located at Pronojiwo District Office in Sidomulyo Village as well as on Sumberwuluh Tengah Village in Sumberwuluh District, Lumajang. The public kitchen is located in Oro-Oro Ombo Village in Pronojiwo District, Lumajang.
