ACTNews, AGAM REGENCY – Global Qurban-Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) together with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) distributed Qurbani cows to residents of Matur in Agam Regency, Bukittinggi, West Sumatra. This Qurbani animal distribution was one of the collaborations between ACT with MUI in the Distribution of 1,000 Heads of Cattle for Communities Affected by the Pandemic in Java-Bali.

Secretary-General of MUI Buya Amirsyah Tambunan said the slaughtering of qurbani animals on the second day of Eid Al-Adha took place in a Slaughterhouse (RPH) and in Matur Village, Agam Regency.

"Alhamdulillah, we slaughtered two cows for Qurbani here. We strictly followed health protocols. Hopefully, this will be a part of our example for the community to be able to share Qurbani meat," he said in a statement received on Thursday (7/22/2021).

He continued the Qurbani meat would later be distributed to 230 beneficiaries in Matur, a village whose majority of residents are poor people who rarely enjoyed meat.

"Let's achieve this glory. May Allah continue to give us opportunities that we can use as well as possible. May Allah bless and expand our sustenance," said Amirsyah.

He also thanked the donors who have helped fellow Indonesians who are experiencing hardship due to financial problems and the pandemic.

“The community was very touched with the qurbani meat distributed to them. Hopefully, it will become a sadaqah jariyah for the donors," he said.

Qurbani Without Limits, a collaboration between MUI and ACT, is part of the communal and national commitment to care for the brothers and sisters in need through Qurbani Without Limits amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has enveloped Indonesia for almost two years. The enactment of Emergency Public Activity Restriction Enforcement (Emergency PPKM) makes them have to continue to survive in difficulties.

On the day of Tashreeq, Amirsyah invited Indonesian benefactors to continue to take advantage of the moment to Qurbani. Hence, the benefits of Qurbani meat can be felt by those who are affected.

“I invite the benefactors to use the remaining two days of Eid ul-Adha to perform Qurbani and send Qurbani meat to those in need throughout Indonesia. It is true that Qurbani Without Limit covers a wide scope. We must distribute Qurbani meat to those in need so that our Qurbani Without Limit can be useful,” he said.

The community leaders of Matur Village expressed their gratitude for the donation of Qurbani cows distributed by ACT and MUI. According to him, this Qurbani meat can be benefited and bring blessings to the people in Matur, Agam Regency.

“On behalf of Matur residents, I would like to say thank you. Hopefully, programs initiated by ACT and MUI will bring wisdom and blessings to us," he said.
