ACT Dispatches Personnel, Builds Posts for Semeru Eruption Victims

Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT)’s Commander of the Disaster Emergency Response and Relief Management (DERM), Kusmayadi, reported that after Mount Semeru erupted, ACT has sent personnel to help evacuate the victims and send emergency assistance.

ACTNews, LUMAJANG – In response to the eruption of Mount Semeru, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) has deployed its personnel to evacuate the survivors and bring emergency assistance.

‘With several branch offices in East Java, ACT has mobilized its personnel to help evacuate the victims since Saturday (12/4/2021) afternoon,” said Commander of ACT’s Disaster Emergency Response and Relief Management (DERM), Kusmayadi, Sunday (12/5/2021).

They also brought emergency assistance that included blankets, meal packages, drinking water, tarps, tents, and mattresses. A medical team also went with them to provide medical assistance to the disaster survivors.

On Saturday afternoon, ACT’s emergency response team had established two humanitarian command posts.

“The main command post is in Penanggal village in Candipuro District while the unit post is in Pronojiwo District,” said Kusmayadi.

They continue to assess the needs of the disaster survivors to make sure that their needs are met.

As of Sunday (12/5/2021), one person was reported dead, 41 people suffered burns, 10 people were still trapped in mud. As many as 300 families were forced to evacuate. []
