ACTNews, JAKARTA – In an effort to alleviate food crisis faced by the impoverished families during the COVID-19 pandemic, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) has launched several humanitarian programs, two of which are Free Food Operation and National Food Alms Movement.
In the period of eight months, from February 23 to October 24, 2021, ACT has distributed 676,586 kilograms of free rice.
ACT's Head of Food Distribution Program, Sutaryo, said that through these two programs, ACT has reached 1,790,960 beneficiaries in 16 provinces in Indonesia. He added that there were 13,274 distribution programs that involved Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) volunteers.
“Alhamdulillah, our efforts in alleviating poverty in Indonesia have slowly shown their good results. The beneficiaries have expressed great appreciation and gratitude to the donors who have channeled their generosity through ACT. Our struggle is far from finished. Let’s unite and build solidarity in the emergency situation,” said Sutaryo.
