ACTNews, SAMARINDA – Covid-19 cases in Samarinda City continue to increase. Even the death rate in Samarinda reached 6.3%, exceeding the national figure of 4.4%. The Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling the Covid-19 Samarinda and the Mayor of Samarinda, Syaharie Jaang, instructed his team looking for the best way to deal with covid-19 in Samarinda.
Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) East Kalimantan and PT Telkom Samarinda provided dozens of aid packages to the frontline officers handling Covid-19 on Thursday (8/5/2021). Funeral and PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) officers received the assistance. One aid package contained dates, raisins, honey, black seed coffee, and personal hygiene kits.
Appreciation also came from various parties, one of which was the Coordinator of the Covid-19 Cemetery for the City of Samarinda, Dedy Efendy, who expressed his gratitude for the concern that had been shown. "Hopefully, this aid package can strengthen the immunity and endurance of the Covid-19 funeral workers here," he said.
Wahyudi, Head of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) East Kalimantan, was grateful for this assistance. “Alhamdulillah, hopefully with this assistance, our activities of PMI Samarinda will be more vigorous and enthusiastic, especially in tackling Covid-19 in Samarinda. I hope this blessing can be a benefit for all of us," he concluded.
