ACTNews, GAZA – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) has regularly distributed winter aid to poor families in several countries, including Palestine. Recently, around 187 impoverished families in the Gaza Strip receives room heaters from ACT.

Said Mukaffiy from ACT's Global Humanity Response explained that the distribution took place at two locations in Gaza, namely Beit Lahia in North Gaza and Alshojaia in East Gaza. In these two areas, many Gazan families live in inadequate and unheated houses.

"Most of their houses were tents that have worn out and are full of holes, making the inhabitants vulnerable to the chilly winter wind,” added Said, Sunday (12/26/12).

Ismael At-Tahrawi, one of the beneficiaries, thanked ACT and Indonesian donors for the assistance he received. Thanks to this heating, Ismael and his six family members no longer worry about freezing winter temperatures.

"My family's economic conditions are vulnerable. I can't find a job. My neighborhood is in extreme poverty. We thank you for this assistance," said Ismael.

There are thousands of other Gazan families who are still in need of winter aid from donors. Your contribution means so much to ease their hardship. []
