ACTNews, GARUT — Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Garut Regency responded quickly to the flash floods that hit Karangtengah and Sukawening districts on Saturday (11/28/2021) by sending their Emergency Response team. Rizky Nugraha from ACT Garut Regency Program Department stated that the team was deployed to help the victims by establishing temporary shelters, rescuing the victims and taking them to the evacuation site, and conducting assessments of the victims' needs.

"Alhamdulillah, even though the flood has begun to recede, we are still providing assistance, including monitoring the victims’ condition and needs,” he said Monday (11/29/2021).

The team is on alert because the rainfall was still quite heavy and the possibility for a subsequent flood is quite high.

The Garut Regency government has set a seven-day disaster emergency period following the flooding that occurred in two districts. []
