ACTNews, MEDAN – The public activity restrictions (PPKM) Level 4 has been going on for two weeks in Medan City. As a result, many people whom Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Medan met admitted that this policy has severely impacted their livelihood, especially for informal workers.

Responding to this condition, ACT Medan held the Free Meal Operation. Hundreds of meal packages have been distributed to the needy thanks to the partnership with several local eateries such as Nasi Kuning Kak Lily, Yayu Kitchen and Dapoer Liyana.

“The main beneficiaries of the Free Meal Operation are underprivileged families and daily workers who are severely affected by the public activity restrictions. They told us that their income has decreased drastically since the pandemic and the imposition of activity restrictions,” explained Sakti of ACT Medan Program Department.

During PPKM, added Sakti, ACT Medan received more requests for help from the social media, resulting in humanitarian programs that ACT Medan initiated. In the future, similar program implementations will reach other areas including Binjai and Deli Serdang.[]
