ACTNews, JAKARTA — Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI), and ACT Emergency Response team attended the appeal for Rainy Season Preparedness led by the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, Wednesday (10/13/2021).
Lukman Solehudin, the coordinator of the ACT Emergency Response Team, explained the team attended the meeting as a coordination effort in anticipating extreme weather that would occur in Jakarta. “Alhamdulillah, this morning at around 09.00 a.m, volunteers and the ACT Emergency Response team attended the appeal for Rainy Season Preparedness," said Lukman.
He continued, the appeal, which was held with the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), was carried out to support disaster management during an emergency response in the rainy season.
So far, explained Lukman, ACT Emergency Response team has made preparations in the form of water rescue training.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan advised the entire staff to be prepared for all possibilities. Anies believes that joint personnel may face tidal flood conditions that usually occur in the northern coastal area of Jakarta, then overflowing water sent from areas traversed by river water and heavy to extreme rain in the middle of the city. "From these three conditions, we all have to face it together," he said.
1,408 joint personnel from the entire staff of the Provincial Government, volunteers, the Indonesian National Police, and the Indonesian Military Police attended the appeal, which was held at the National Monument, Central Jakarta. Forkopimda staff, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria, the Jaya Regional Commander Maj. Gen. Mulyo Aji and the Deputy Kapolda of Metro Jaya Brigadier General Hendro Pandowo attended the appeal.
