ACTNews, TANGERANG REGENCY – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Tangerang Regency and Komunitas Gerakan Peduli Sesama visited residents affected by the tidal flood in Muara Village, Lemo Village, Teluknaga District, Tangerang Regency. The team held this activity on Sunday (12/5/2021).

High tides that have occurred since Thursday (12/2/2021) have caused tidal flooding. The continuous rain in the Tangerang Regency made the situation worse.

The floods affected 400 families from 10 RTs in Teluknaga District. From the team's observation, in some RTs the flood even reached about half a meter. Even so, residents still survive in their respective homes.

Hendar, a resident of Muara Village, said that the tidal flood would recede in the afternoon. "Seawater will rose and entered the village around 01.00 a.m till 05.00 a.m. When it was high tide, the flood entered the residential area of up to half a meter," he explained.

To meet the needs of the victims, ACT and Komunitas Gerakan Peduli Sesama distributed ready-to-eat meals and loaves of bread for the affected residents in Muara Village. "Hopefully, what we give them can reduce the burden of those who are affected. The ACT team will also be ready at any time to help people in need,” said Muhammad Ridwan Marsudi, Program Coordinator of ACT Tangerang Regency. []
