ACTNews, EAST FLORES – The flash flood that hit Adonara Island, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara last April has destroyed thousands of houses and public facilities including sanitation facilities. The situation had made it difficult for the survivors to access clean and proper sanitation.

Damage to the Water Utility (PDAM) network was also experienced by hundreds of Waiwerang Village residents, East Adonara District, East Flores Regency, and caused difficulty to the survivors in accessing clean water.

Responding to the situation, Aksi Cepat Tanggap together with Synergy Via Online (SVO), and Wellous Indonesia built toilets and clean water facilities in Waiwerang Village.

Dede Abdul Rochman from Aksi Cepat Tanggap Program Team explained that the sanitation facility is supposed to be constructed within 10 days. The team expects this project to be completed as soon as possible due to the urgent needs of the residents.

“This sanitation and clean water access assistance is our effort to assist not only during disaster management but also the disaster recovery. Insha Allah, this will be a blessing for all of us, and East Flores can revive from the grief of the disaster," said Dede, Saturday (7/24/2021).[]
