ACTNews, TANGERANG - Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) set up a booth at the Halal Expo Indonesia (HEI) event held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang from Friday (12/6) tol Sunday (12/8).

That day, ACT aims to raise awareness about Palestine. Dwi Setyo from the ACT Partnership Team said, ACT’s main purpose in HEI was to raise funds for Palestine because the Palestinians are still in need of help.

"As we know, last November, the Palestinians were bombarded by the Israeli military. Therefore, they are still in need of assistance. Plus, winter is coming in Palestine," Dwi said.

ACT collaborated with Vanilla Hijab by selling its products at the booth. The proceeds from the sale of these products will be donated entirely to Palestinians.

In addition, some ACT volunteers also went around carrying donation bags to the visitors to make it easier for the benefactors to donate without having to come to the booth.

Arina, one of the participant of the expo, was among the donors. She had been busy at her booth since the morning. When one of ACT volunteers came, she gave her donated. Arina said that the presence of ACT greatly facilitated the community to distribute donations.

"I know about ACT and, as far as I know, ACT focuses on natural disasters. The presence of ACT’s booth and volunteers makes it easier for us to donate because we sometimes have no idea how to donate. Sometimes we donate through ACT’s bank accounts too," said Arina.

Donations can also be made at ACT booth directly, and the donors will get souvenirs from ACT as a form of appreciation. On that occasion, Global Wakaf-ACT also deployed its Mobile Waqf Shop to support the empowerment of the community through shopping as well as educating about waqf to the visitors. []
