– This year, the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Branch of Riau sailed their
second Ramadan Ship. It targets the impoverished families in the remote areas
on the outskirts of Riau, and it set sail on Monday (4/11/2022).
“The Ramadan Ship
is aimed at bringing smiles to our brothers and sisters in this holy month of
Ramadan, delivering food packages and prayer kits to residents on the outskirts
of Riau,” said Mukhtar, an ACT Riau program staff.
The beneficiaries
of this program were the residents in Pebenaan Village in Parit Kepol,
Indragiri Hilir. It took 25 minutes to sail to the village to bring assistance
to 20 underprivileged residents in the area.
Mukhtar said this
program is one of ACT’s main programs to help people living in the periphery of
Riau, especially to meet their needs during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1443 AH.
Every week, this ship is planned to visit other areas in Riau during the month
of Ramadan.
“We hope that this
program will continue to run with the support and prayers from the benefactors,”
added Mukhtar.
Agus Salim, the
Head of Pebenaan Village, said his thanks for the assistance delivered through
the Ramadan Ship. “I thank the team who came to our village
to deliver assistance. We hope that it will boost the happiness of the locals
in welcoming Ramadan, and we pray that Allah will bless the donors with good
health and wealth,” said Agus. []
