ACTNews, TANJUNGPINANG – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Tanjungpinang Branch is currently striving to distribute 10,000 Quran copies to the remote islands in Riau Archipelago as an effort to support Islamic education on Indonesian outer islands. As stated by the ACT Tanjungpinang Branch Manager Remy Maulana Hadie, the recipients of the 10,000 copies of the Quran will include Islamic boarding schools and hifz (Quran memorization) institutions on Indonesian outer islands.

"Hopefully, the distribution of Quran copies can support their learning,” said Remy.

As part of this effort, ACT Tanjungpinang Branch recently distributed Quran copies at Baiturrahman Islamic Boarding School. The distribution event was attended by Datuk Huzrin Hood who was the Regent of Bintan from 2001 to 2003.

Baiturrahman Islamic Boarding School was established eight years ago as an institution to help students to study Islam. This Islamic boarding school is located on Jalan Sei Jang, Tanjungpinang City. Though it has been established for almost a decade, the school is still developing and lacking supporting facilities due to limited funds.

The donation of the Quran copies was met with a positive response from the school and its caretakers. Ustaz Munawar Albas, Principal of Baiturrahman Islamic Boarding School, expressed his thankfulness for the Quran copies donated by ACT to support the operation of his school.

"May Allah reward and bless all benefactors who have helped us," said Ustaz Munawar. []
