ACTNews, GAZA – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) delivered another winter aid to the people of Gaza. The beneficiaries were impoverished people in Beit Lahia, north Gaza, and Alshojaia in East Gaza City. ACT Palestine gave winter clothes and food packages.
Branch Manager of ACT Palestine, Tahany Qassem, described the winter as a disaster for Gazans. Poverty leaves Gazans unprepared for a season with temperatures as low as 0 degrees Celsius.
Tahany explains that many Gazan families do not have winter clothing because they cannot afford it. Many residents also live in rickety houses that are unfit to withstand the winter winds.
"We provide thick jackets, socks, shoes, and staple foods that can last for about the next two months," Tahany said on Thursday (12/23/2021).
Lama, one of the children in Gaza, was overjoyed when the ACT team delivered a winter aid to him. "Thank you to Indonesia and ACT for providing me with warm clothing, shoes, and socks. I am overjoyed and will wear them to school," Lama said while wearing the new sweater he had received.
Tahany adds that ACT is attempting to assist in the rescue of Gaza from a dire situation. As in the case of Israeli aggression, natural disasters, and the worsening economic condition, including during the winter.
