ACTNews, BALIKPAPAN — Aliansi Umat Islam se-Balikpapan gathered at the Tugu Manuntung Balikpapan as a form of support for Palestine, Friday (5/23/2021). The solidarity action was attended by various elements of society, one of which was the Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia-Aksi Cepat Tanggap.
People gathered in front of the At-Taqwa Mosque in Balikpapan. Support banners and Palestinian flags flew. In addition, people also raised funds for the Palestinians. In this action, the participants followed health protocols such as wearing masks, and the committee also provided hand sanitizers for the participants.
Ibenk, a representative of the Komunitas Biker Subuhan said many people have been hesitant to deliver aid to Palestine. However, the presence of Aksi Cepat Tanggap in this action gave trust to the community. "On various ACT social media channels, the concrete actions and documentation presented were clear that the aid reached Palestine. Insha Allah, this movement and collaboration can convince people of the truth," concluded Ibenk.
Meanwhile, Abdul Khadir, the program team of ACT East Kalimantan explained the action carried out by the Balikpapan Muslim Alliance was a form of support shown by the Balikpapan community. "Hopefully, we can maintain the trust of the Balikpapan people in conveying their mandate for Palestine," said Khadir.
