Benefactors’ Food Aid to Relieve Famine in Yemen

ACTNews, TAIZ – Aksi Cepat Tanggap distributed food package assistance to Yemenis in Al Qahira, Almodhfar, and Salah, Taiz last week to a total of 1,475 people.

Said Mukaffiy from ACT’s Global Humanity Response (GHR) tea explained that each package consisted of 25 kilograms of wheat, 10 kilograms of rice, 3 liters of cooking oil, and various types of beans.

Insha Allah, this food assistance can fulfill the food needs of underprivileged families here for the next 1 to 2 months. The recipients were very enthusiastic and grateful for this assistance,” said Mukaffiy, Sunday (11/14/2021). Mukaffiy then encourages people to continue sharing their sustenance to help those who are in need.

Humanitarian crises in Yemen are still ongoing. According to the World Food Programme (WFP) around 16.2 million people in Yemen are food insecure while a half million of them have already been food insecure. Moreover, some of the Yemenis have to scavenge food from landfills to be able to eat.[]
