Branch Manager of ACT Palestine: Hard to Believe We're Still Alive

"Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun were the most targeted areas of the destruction that night. It was a bloody, horrific night in Gaza. We did not believe that we would wake up this morning and still be alive," Tahany said.

ACTNews, GAZA – Israel continues to launch attacks on Gaza until Saturday (5/15/2021). The Branch Manager of ACT Palestine, Tahany Ahmed Qasim, reported directly from Gaza to ACT and Indonesian citizens the story of the worst attack that occurred on Friday (5/14/2021) when Israeli rockets rained down on Gaza.

“Can you imagine the situation in Gaza, a 365 square meter area has been attacked in many airstrikes in just a matter of minutes? A total of 160 strikes were carried out in different regions. Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun were the most targeted areas of the destruction that night. It was a bloody, horrific night in Gaza. We did not believe that we would wake up this morning and still be alive," Tahany said.

Tahany continued, as the result of the strikes, many Gazans left their homes and looked for shelters such as hospitals, schools, and their relatives' houses. They hoped the place would not be hit by Israeli airstrikes and could protect them because it is a public facility.

"To this day, 330 families do not own houses, and this number continues to increase," added Tahani.

From Tuesday (5/11/2021) until today, the attacks launched by Israel have increased the number of casualties up to 122 people, including 31 children and 20 women, and more than 900 others were injured. The death toll continues to increase, and medics are working harder to treat all the wounded people.

She added, the aggression and bombing were still happening by the time she reported. Israel is likely to continue this aggression for the next few days. Unfortunately, this aggression is directed to residential areas, children, agricultural land, and all areas in Gaza. “We ask for your prayer that Gaza and the Palestinians are protected,” she concluded.[]
