ACTNews, JAKARTA – The hardship faced by the Palestinians has brought many people and communities around the world to show their empathy. In Indonesia, support for Palestine also came from a fan community of a South Korean boy group, Bangtan Boys (BTS).

The fan community of BTS which is familiar as Adorable Representative MC for Youth (ARMY), collectively raised funds through Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) to solve the crisis faced by the Palestinians.

On Friday (9/3/2021), represented by an Indonesian ARMY influencer, Monica Sahara, Indonesian ARMY submitted their collected donations toward Palestinian recovery to the office of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). According to Monica, the donated fund had been raised since last May.

“We are aware that BTS ARMY is a global community. Many global issues can be helped with the big scale of our community. Although not all ARMY are Muslims, the crisis in Palestine has become a global humanitarian issue, especially when Palestine was brutally bombarded last May,” said Monica. The Indonesian influencer with more than 300 thousand followers also hopes that the donations from Indonesian BTS ARMY can assist the Palestinians’ life.

Monica also entrusted the collected humanitarian assistance to be implemented by ACT. “I have known ACT for a long time. I have also seen their media platform that reports the implemented donations. So, we will not just end it by submitting donations but also be updated about the continuity of our donations,” explained Monica.

Monica added that this support project for Palestine was not the first time for Indonesian BTS ARMY. In 2020, through her social media, she also has encouraged ARMY to donate to the Palestinians. “It becomes my personal goal to help Palestinian people since they are also our brothers and sisters. The collected donation was not that much, but I am happy to be able to take part in it,” she said.

Monica hopes for the entire Indonesian BTS ARMY to be more aware of the ongoing humanitarian problems both in Indonesia and abroad. For her, with the big amount of Indonesian BTS ARMY, every little amount of donation will be very helpful to solve the ongoing humanitarian problems.[]
