Celebrate World Food Day by Distributing Rice to Santri

ACTNews, SOUTH BANGKA – Aksi Cepat Tanggap also celebrated World Food Day on October 16. ACT Bangka commemorated World Food Day at Azayyad Lilulum Islamic Boarding School, Nyelanding Village, South Bangka, by distributing food packages. This activity was to increase efforts to eradicate hunger in all circles of society through generosity.

Raffles Gordon from ACT Bangka Program team said this time, the beneficiaries of the food package were students. They hope the food package can fulfill the food needs of students. Hence, the students can focus on studying without thinking about what to eat. ACT Bangka team distributed hundreds of food packages.

“World Food Day seems to be the right moment for us to realize that food is important. This effort must not be slack and must continue to be improved. Do not let any of our brothers and sisters suffer from hunger," he said.

Students and teachers in Azayyad Lilulum Islamic Boarding School happily welcomed the assistance. Ustaz Yerdi, the Principal of Azayyad Lilulum Islamic Boarding School, was grateful for this food aid.

"Thank you to all the benefactors who have given this free rice to the students. May Allah always give blessings to all of us," said Ustaz Yerdi.

ACT Bangka also distributed these food packages to several areas in five regions on Bangka Island. ACT has also prepared a Cheap Food Operation that allows the community to access the best food at an affordable price.[]
