ACTNews, TASIKMALAYA – The qurbani sacrifice in Kampung Cicondong, Cibeuti Village, Kawalu Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya (8/1) was filled with joy and delight. The tradition of gotong royong, or mutual cooperation was apparent among the locals as they were slaughtering qurbani cattle mandated by Amily Hijab channeled through Global Qurban - ACT Tasikmalaya.

"Our residents rarely participate in slaughtering qurbani animals from the beginning. This year was the first after quite some time. Even if we receive qurbani, it’s usually from our neighboring villages. This is why our residents are apparently very enthusiastic,” said Asep, a local community leader.

That day’s qurbani showed not only the mutual cooperation among villagers, but also the generosity that radiated to the neighboring villages. Initially, the qurbani was intended only for 60 families in the village. However, the residents of Cicondong Hamlet took the initiative to distribute qurbani meat to residents of neighboring villages who had not yet received qurbani meat due to lack of qurbani performers. In total, 200 families benefitted from the qurbani meat distribution.

"We have a great enthusiasm for sharing. Although qurbani sacrifice is something quite rare in our own neighborhood, we want our vicinity to also feel the happiness that we feel now, "Asep added.

The generosity of the locals inspired one of Amily Hijab's representatives, Nunung Nurhayati. She and her team team admitted that they were touched by the generosity and care of the Cicondong villagers.

"Alhamdulillah, God has facilitated us to meet the people of Cicondong by whose generosity we were inspired. The qurbani that was initially aimed to benefit only 62 families, but then it was able to benefit over 200 families. We are truly moved and inspired. It is an example that we can always have something to share even though we don’t have much wealth. Thank you very much to Global Qurban - ACT for bringing us together with the community through this qurbani, "said Nunung.

M. Fauzi Ridwan, Global Qurban – ACT Tasikmalaya Program Coordinator said, besides Cicondong Village, the distribution of qurbani animals also reached poor people in other areas. "Yesterday (7/31), we sacrificed and distributed qurbani animals in Rancamaya Hamlet, Gunungsari Village, Tasikmalaya Regency. Today (8/1), besides Cicondong Hamlet, we also distributed qurbani to Cicau Hamlet, Cibeuti Kawalu Village, Tasikmalaya City and Cisugih Village, Tamansari Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya City, "explained Fauzi.

The distribution of qurbani in Tasikmalaya lasted until the third day past Eid, Sunday (8/3). On that day, the distribution of qurbani meat reached Buligir Village, Cigalontang Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya Regency, and Cikuda Village, Tamansari Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya City.

"Thank you for the support of all generous people who have distributed their qurbani animals through Global Qurban - ACT. Alhamdulillah, the people who received the qurbani meat were very happy," concluded Fauzi. []
