ACTNews, BANYUMAS –  Global Wakaf-ACT has built a unit of Agricultural Waqf Well for people in Gabahan Hamlet, Suro Village, Kalibagor, Banyumas, last March. The Agricultural Waqf Well construction was finished on Tuesday (04/06/2021).

“There are more than 150 people who are targeted as the beneficiaries. Given the widespread drought, it is hoped that the Waqf Well can also be used for other needs,” said Nurul Ramadhan from the Global Wakaf-ACT team.

Entering the dry season, the shallow wells in Gabahan Hamlet dry out. The residents truly run out of water. They usually just rely on the dropping water assistance. They need to travel for 3 kilometers to reach the nearest water source and carry it on their shoulders.

Sugeng, one of the residents, was so happy for the Waqf Well assistance. Now, he doesn’t have to search for water during the dry season. “We are very happy. We can’t repay the kindness of all the benefactors. Nevertheless, we pray may Allah SWT repay the assistance with His heaven later in the afterlife,” said Sugeng.[]
