ACTNews, TASIKMALAYA REGENCY – The collaboration among all elements of the nation in helping communities affected by the pandemic is very important. ACT Tasikmalaya Regency together with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian Police (Polri), collaborated to distribute rice from Free Food Operation (OPG) in Cipakat Village, Singaparna District, Tasikmalaya Regency, Thursday (7/15/2021).
Chief of Singaparna Police Semiyono says Cipakat Village is one of the villages with the highest Covid-19 cases in Singaparna District. The local government was overwhelmed with the high number of Covid-19 cases in the community.
“The village officers are overwhelmed in dealing with Covid-19. There is one village that must be locked down, and no one is allowed to enter. Because of that, it's important that we fulfill the food needs of those who are in self-isolation," said Semiyono, Thursday (7/15/2021).
Wawan, Singaparna District Military Commander, says he supports Free Food Operation initiated by ACT because the economy of residents has deteriorated, and they need help.
“Amid the struggle to restore public health by conducting PPKM, on the other hand, the economy of people needs to be supported. This OPG program is the right step to help the local economy," he said.
Diki from ACT Tasikmalaya Regency program team says OPG will continue to help people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. "Insha Allah, we will continue to carry out this activity to ease the burden on the community amid the pandemic," he explained.
The distribution was carried out for two days, Thursday (7/15/2021) and Friday (7/16/2021). ACT Tasikmalaya Regency distributed more than 500 kilograms of rice to the community. The beneficiaries were also very grateful for this activity.
