ACTNews, SOUTH TANGERANG – Cut Astri, a single mother, lives in the Lengkong Gudang area, South Tangerang. She admitted that she was confused about how her family could eat that day. She worried more about her daughter, Clarissa (13), than herself because her daughter must endure hunger all day long.

Cut Astri, usually called Icut, reported her situation through a short message to her relative. “Bang Eko, can you help me? There is no rice at home. I can still hold my hunger, but I feel sorry for my daughter. She must endure hunger all day,” said Icut to his relative, Eko, Tuesday (8/3/2021).

The screenshot of the message between Icut and Eko reached one of the staff of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) South Tangerang. The team immediately tried to find a way to deliver food aid to Icut. Once the team got the address, they distributed waqf rice to Icut and her neighbor.

On the same day, ACT Team and the volunteers finally arrived at her house. Icut told ACT team about her condition. "I have been laid off for a long time, and I am a widow. I have to pay my daughter’s tuition fee, so I cannot buy rice. I can still hold my hunger but my daughter cannot stand hunger,” said Icut.

Icut said she was very grateful and quite surprised. "Excellent, Alhamdulillah. When I found out that help was coming today, I was immediately delighted. ACT works very fast,” she said.

Waqf Rice assistance was not only given to Cut but also her neighbors. Thus, Icut, Clarissa, and their neighbors who are from impoverished families were helped. []
