ACTNews, IDLIB – Another food distribution for the Syrian IDPs was held in Idlib. This time, IDPs living in Aqrabat, Idlib, benefitted from the food distribution. Firdaus Guritno from Aksi Cepat Tanggap’s Global Humanity Response reported that food aid was distributed on Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1) to the Syrians living in briquette houses in Idlib.
"A total of 900 people benefitted from this food distribution. They are the future inhabitants of the briquette houses. The houses aren’t finished yet, so now the IDPs are still living in tents. They rely solely on humanitarian assistance," said Firdaus.
Another batch of food distribution is planned to be done at Atmeh and Ad-Dana. Aksi Cepat Tanggap has regularly sent food aid to the Syrians that are internally displaced and the refugees living along the Syria-Turkey and Syria-Lebanon Border.
Additionally, ACT is also building shelters for the Syrians. A total of 50 temporary shelters have been built in Idlib. "ACT is also building briquette houses in the south of Aqrabat funded by the generosity of Indonesian donors. In the first phase, ACT has built 50 livable houses for Syrian IDPs in Salqin," concluded Firdaus.
