ACTNews, SOUTH SULAWESI - Aksi Cepat Tanggap and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia volunteers collaborated with Hadji Kalla Foundation to deliver Eid Al-Fitr package to communities in Pinrang and Enrekang subdistricts in South Sulawesi, Thursday (5/20). A total of 650 packages containing food, masks, and hygiene kits were distributed to new Muslim converts in Makula and Salukata in Lembang Mesakada Village, Lembang Subdistrict, Pinrang Regency.
Mak Guntur, one of the converts, expressed her gratitude for the arrival of the Eid packages on Thursday. She admitted that, during the pandemic, the local residents can only eat food obtained from around the river. "COVID-19 prevented us from going anywhere. The village has been isolated for our safety. Sometimes we only eat vegetables that grow along the riverbanks or on our gardens, "said Mak Guntur.
She added, the food packages are very beneficial for the locals. Lembang Mesakada villagers have not been able to bbuy staple foods in the city. "Some of us find it very difficult to meet our daily needs. Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the aid from our brothers and sisters, thank you very much, "Mak Guntur continued.
Lembang Mesakada Village Chief Yohanes Pakuli greatly appreciated the kindness of the benefactors. "We are very grateful for a collaboration like this. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more collaborative programs from ACT that reach our villagers, "hoped Yohanes.
