Donation from East Java Residents for Palestine Recovery

As a form of support for the recovery process of Palestine, East Java residents handed over financial assistance with a total number of IDR5 billion. The assistance handover was represented by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah, and accepted by the President of ACT, Ibnu Khajar.

ACTNews, EAST JAVA – Supports for Palestine continue to come from the Indonesian people. Thursday (6/3/2021),  assistance was directly submitted by the East Java residents to help the recovery process of Palestine after the major aggression at the end of Ramadan.

Represented by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, a total of IDR5 billion of humanitarian assistance was delivered by the East Java residents for the Palestinians through Aksi Cepat Tanggap. During the handover event at Al-Akbar Surabaya National Mosque courtyard, Khofifah expressed his deep condolences to the Palestinians who were affected by the Israeli aggression. She hopes financial assistance can give a lot of benefits to Palestine.

Subhanallah, a big number of donations was collected by the East Java residents. Hopefully, it will also be a great benefit. I have seen the video explaining that later the assistance will be implemented to recover the agricultural sector in Palestine, including vegetables, potatoes, and olive trees. The irrigation system and infrastructures will also be very useful for the Palestinians,” said Khofifah.

Besides that, Khofifah also expressed her appreciation to ACT for being the connector between Indonesia and Palestine. “Therefore, we can ensure that our almsgiving can be distributed to the beneficiaries in Palestine as well as possible. Hopefully, these strategic elements can realize the Baldatun Thoyibatun warobbun Ghofur which (in Indonesian terms defined as a good country that God forgave, or in Javanese philosophy known with the term gemah ripah loh jinawi),” said Khofifah.

Meanwhile, at the same event, the President of ACT Ibnu Khajar expressed his gratitude and thanked the East Java residents. “The Palestinians are struggling to recover their lives from scratches again. With assistance from East Java residents, the recovery process will be faster. This assistance is proof of strong brotherhood between the Indonesians and the Palestinians,” said Ibnu.

Ibnu also expressed his gratitude for the trust given by East Java residents to the ACT in distributing the assistance. Ibnu ensures that the assistance will be distributed to the Palestinians in the various forms of humanitarian aid including food, medical, clean water, ambulances, and new shelter assistance for the Palestinians.[]
