ACTNews, COX’S BAZAR, SITTWE - Everyone in the refugee camp was so excited as the day of Eid-ul-Fitr neared. Their happiness increased on Saturday (5/23) as hundreds of food packages from Indonesian benefactors were delivered to the Rohingya refugees before Eid-ul-Fitr.
300 families received staple food packages. Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Volunteers in Bangladesh delivered the food packages directly from one shelter to another.
Firdaus Guritno from Global Humanity Response (GHR) - ACT explained that the staple food packages were also distributed for the Rohingyas inside Myanmar. "A total of 600 families in Sittwe, Myanmar, and Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, received zakat and staple food packages," Firdaus explained.
ACT has always supported the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Bangladesh. In Ramadan, ACT distributed iftar packages to 600Rohingya refugees at Cox’s Bazar from May 17 to 19.
“ACT has been able to regularly deliver aid to the Rohingyas thanks to the kindness and generosity of the donors. Through their charity, we can reach out to the Rohingyas to bring happiness to them in Ramadan and Eid season,” said Firdaus.
