ACTNews, GAZA - Aksi Cepat Tanggap continues to
distribute emergency aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza and in Jerusalem. From
May 1 to 21, 2021, medical services, public kitchens and free meals, staple food
packages, Eid gifts, prayer kits, and housing had been provided to 17,107
Palestinians.
Medical supplies and equipment were
distributed to Al Shifa hospital in Gaza. As many as 9,200 people have
benefitted from this distribution. Due to the high number of injuries and
fatalities, many hospitals need more equipment and supplies to support the
recovery of the patients.
Two pre-hospital ambulances had been
involved in helping 2,900 residents who needed emergency and regular medical treatments.
To provide food for the people of
Palestine, public kitchens are available in Al-Aqsa Compound in Jerusalem and
in Gaza. In Jerusalem, meals from the public kitchen were distributed to
residents within the vicinity of the sacred compound. In addition, the meal packages were also distributed to the Gazans who were displaced. As of Thursday (5/20/2021), the
meal package distribution has reached 2,150 beneficiaries.
In Gaza, food aid was also present in the
form of staple food distribution to feed Gazan families for few days. At least
272 families received these staple food packages.
"We will continue to send aid to
Palestine and help Muslim brothers and sisters there so that they can pursue a
decent life like other people," said Andi Noor Faradiba from ACT's Global
Humanity Response.
In addition to medical and food needs, ACT
also distributed prayer kits to 40 Palestinian families in Khan Younis to help
them pray and worship more comfortably.
At the moment, many families in Gaza
urgently need adequate housing for families whose houses were destroyed by the
attacks. ACT will prepare shelters for affected families, equipped with
electricity and running water. []
