Evacuees in Boyolali Increases, ACT Continues Aid Distribution

As the number of the evacuees climbed, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Solo and the Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) volunteers continued to assist them, including by sending basic needs and providing psychosocial assistance for the evacuee children.

ACTNews, BOYOLALI – As the volcanic activities in Mount Merapi continues to intensify, the number of evacuees in the evacuation site in Tlogolele Village, Selo District, Boyolali Regency has increased up to 280 by Saturday (11/21).

To further facilitate the evacuees, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Solo and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) volunteers provided basic aid packages and psychosocial assistance for evacuee children. The volunteers helped the children study and played with them to kill their boredom.

"Today we delivered aid packages and provided psychosocial assistance in Tlogolele evacuation site. We played traditional games, told stories to them, and did other kinds of activities to entertain the children. We hope that the children will be happy and we hope that the volcanic activities of Mount Merapi can soon recede," said Ardiyan Sapto from of ACT Solo program department, Saturday (11/21).

Neigen Achtah Nur Edi Saputra as the head of Tlogolele evacuation site expressed his gratitude to ACT and MRI Solo. "On behalf of the local residents and the evacuees in Tlogolele, I thank ACT and MRI Solo and the generous donors for their concern and assistance to us in the evacuation site.
