ACTNews, MOGADISHU – In 2020, Qurbani meat distribution by Global Qurban-ACT was implemented in 33 countries including Somalia. Somalia was chosen because Global Qurban-ACT aimed to assist the Somalis who live with food insecurity. Thousands of Somalis have to survive in severe hunger.
According to the report from Global Qurban-ACT’s partners on the outskirts of Mogadishu, the Capital of Somalia, many impoverished people can’t afford proper nutritious food in Mogadishu. Therefore, in Eid ul-Adha 2020, a total of 79,509 people in Mogadishu enjoyed the Qurbani meat.
Andi Noor Faradiba from the Global Qurban-ACT team explains that the underprivileged people in Mogadishu can barely consume meat due to financial difficulty and the prolonged drought.
“Insha Allah, we will benefit the Somalis again this year. We also hope for the participation of the benefactors so that we can assist more people in this year’s Eid Al-Adha amid the difficult situation faced by the Somalis,” said Faradiba, Monday (7/12/2021).
