ACTNews, BOGOR REGENCY – Until today, some residents have survived after the flood and landslide hit Cipendawa Village, Cileuksa Village, Sukajaya District, Bogor Regency. They, together with other parties, have completed the temporary shelter with various facilities, including school.
Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School was one of them. Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Wardah built this school in 2020. Around 200 students, who used to study under temporary camps, study at their classes again.
ACT continues to provide facilities for Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School, including toilets. Previously, during school, students used toilets in public or their homes.
“There was once a student who was allowed to go to the toilet during class hours, but after that, the student did not return to school because his house is pretty far from the school,” said Maman Suparman as Principal of Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School. They take turns bringing water with buckets from a public toilet, approximately 300 meters from their school when students clean the school.
To complete the facilities at Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School, Global Wakaf-ACT built a Waqf Well for the needs of the children's survivors in Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School. It only took about a month until Al-Hidayah Islamic Elementary School use the water facilities from the Waqf Well, which was completed in early August.
Maman also positively welcomed the assistance provided by Global Wakaf-ACT and the benefactors. “Thanks to Global Wakaf-ACT for supporting the Cipendawa community from the beginning of the landslide until today. Alhamdulillah, we have also inaugurated the Waqf Well and toilets for our school. Insha Allah, it will be useful for students and teachers here," he said.
