Fauziah: A Female Volunteer Helps Finding Drowning Victims

ACTNews, SUKABUMI REGENCY -- Fauziah Arapah is a volunteer involved in searching for a drowning victim on Karang Naya Beach, Sukabumi Regency. She and the MRI-ACT Disaster Emergency Response (DER) team in the joint SAR team managed to find the victim, a male with the initials UM (27), who was dragged by a strong wave while swimming.

Fauziah, who only became a volunteer in March 2021, was asked to help search for drowning victims. Knowing the field of nursing, Fauziah accepted the invitation to help search for victims.

Fauziah also received direct guidance from the Senior Volunteer of MRI Sukabumi Siti Maryam. Fauziah has a strong image. She is physically and mentally strong. She did not hesitate to help carry the body bag.

Searching for drowning victims, according to Fauziah, was the most memorable experience, starting from observation to evacuating victims and bringing them to funeral homes.

Fauziah's activities as a volunteer turned out to be fully supported by her parents. While the work is noble, Fauziah's parents are very supportive. "Alhamdulillah, my parents support my volunteer activities," she said.[]
