Financial Aid for Teachers in Bone

Despite having taught many children in remote areas without receiving much, the spirit of the honorary teachers in Bone does not dampen. Therefore, ACT appreciates them through the Sahabat Guru Indonesia Program.

ACTNews, BONE REGENCY – Sahabat Guru Indonesia Program continues to provide assistance for underprivileged teachers in Indonesia. This time, the program reached Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Falah in Laburasseng Village, Libureng Subdistrict, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. On Thursday (1/9), 10 honorary teachers at the school who have been teaching from 2012 received financial allowance.

The financial allowance from Global Zakat-Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) is a form of support from all benefactors. "This is a form of appreciation and support from Global Zakat to the teachers," explained Nur Ali Akbar from ACT South Sulawesi Program team, Thursday (1/9).

Since its launching in November 2019, Sahabat Guru Indonesia Program has continued to give financial aid to poor teachers across the country with the hope that this program will encourage teachers to continue to play a role in educating Indonesian students.

Sahabat Guru Indonesia is initiated as a form of attention to the condition of Indonesian teachers in the country’s remote and poor areas. They only receive meager income that they have to wait for months to receive it. As a result, it is not uncommon for teachers to have to find other jobs to fulfill their daily needs.

"Seeing that there are still many economically underprivileged teachers, ACT invites all people care for them," said Nur Ali.

Andi Kunawati, one of the teachers at MTs Nurul Falah, said that this financial assistance greatly helped her to fulfill the daily needs of her family. "Thank you, generous people who have helped to fulfill the needs of teachers in Indonesia," said Kunawati. []
