Five Tons of Rice Ready to be Distributed to 1,000 Families in Maluku Ahead of Eid

Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, ACT Maluku has dedicated food aid for families affected by COVID-19. In addition to informal workers and orphans in Ambon City, the rice assistance also reached areas within the periphery of Maluku islands.

ACTNews, AMBON – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Maluku sought to provide five tons of rice to 1,000 families who are financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We hope, in Eid Al-Fitr, there will be no more brothers and sisters in Maluku who do not have rice. We will maximize this program until two days before Eid," explained Head ofACT Maluku’s program department Muhammad Syamsudin Mahu.

Furthermore, Syamduin explained, ACT and MRI Maluku will reach the beneficiaries on the coastal areas, outer islands, as well as informal workers and orphans in Ambon City.

That was confirmed by Safri Zainudin Bugis from the MRI Ambon City Community Relations. Safri explained, MRI Maluku volunteers make sure that the aid reaches the rightful beneficiaries.

"We also endeavor to support the community during Eid Al-Fitr. Alhamdulillah, we also thank our MRI volunteers who have dedicated themselves for this program in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic situation," Zainudin said.
