ACTNews, SUMBAWA –On Monday (2/14/2022), heavy rains with high intensity caused flash floods in six villages in Alas District, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The flood destroyed several houses, bridges, irrigation canals, water pipes, and tourist attractions.
According to M. Romli Saefudin of the ACT West Nusa Tenggara Emergency Response Team, flash floods affected 533 families in Kalimango Village, Baru Village, Dalam Village, Juran Alas Village, Marente Village, and Luar Village. According to the most recent data, the flood swept two houses, severely damaged eight houses, slightly damaged 171 houses, four cows went missing, and gabions in Juran Alas and Baru villages collapsed.
"The flash flood swept away the Cinta Bridge in Desa Baru, the PDAM main pipe, the Marente Beruga Tourism Park, the PAMSIMAS Pipeline, the Limpas Bridge, the Tiu Kele POKDARWIS Bridge, and the Uma Bulu irrigation channel," Romi told ACTNews on Tuesday (2/15/2022).
Romi went on to say that the flood height was about 1 to 1.5 meters. The ACT Emergency Response team is currently visiting the disaster area to conduct evacuations and assessments.
