ACTNews, SOUTH BOLAANG MONGONDOW – Five villages in Central Pinolosian District, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency were flooded, Thursday (9/9/2021). The five villages were Mataindo Village, North Mataindo, Torosik, South Tobayagan, and Tobayagan.

Heavy rains that had been falling since Wednesday (9/8/2021) caused rivers around the villages to overflow. "Based on the monitoring by Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and local volunteers, the rivers around the settlement areas have overflowed and the water have entered the houses," said Head of the South Bolaang Mongondow Regency Disaster Mitigation Board Daanan Mokodompit, Thursday (9/9/2021). The height of the floods varied from knee-high to an adult's waist.

BPBD couldn’t confirm if other districts in South Bolaang Mongondow were also flooded because floods have blocked the roads.

With extreme weather that will continue for the week, the local residents are advised to remain vigilant because the floods might happen at any time. []
