ACTNews, IDLIB – In the past ten years, the humanitarian crisis had left 13.4 million people in need of assistance and protection. In winter, their urgent need for winter gear and basic supplies increase. Syrian internally displaced people (IDP) need more food and warm clothes.

Responding to the needs of Syrian IDP,  Aksi Cepat Tanggap distributed winter assistance. This time, food packages were given to families in Atimah, Idlib, Syria, from March 20 to 27.  Assistance in the form of food packages was handed over to 255 families who are most in need.

“ We routinely provide winter assistance for Syrian IDP. Previously, in early November we also delivered blankets and winter clothes for them,” said Firdaus Guritno from Global Humanity Response - ACT.

Winter is always tense in Atmeh Camp, North Idlib. Thousands of IDP crammed into the area did not add to the warmth at all, as there were IDPs every year who have to fight against the cold from the tents. The assistance for Syrian IDPs could not be separated from the generosity of Indonesian people who had helped through Indonesia Dermawan and Kitabisa website.[]
