ACTNews, JAKARTA – Since its official launch on Monday (7/26/2021), Food Careline Services (FCS) has distributed 17,000 meal packages throughout the Greater Jakarta area and benefitted 3,434 families.

In its operation, the free food delivery program involves 95 workers every day, including the Humanity Bikers, Humanity Food Bus, Central Kitchen, 110 partnering food stalls and 74 restaurants spread across Greater Jakarta.

Until Wednesday (7/28/2021), ACT's Food Careline Services has received 645 calls from West Jakarta, 617 calls from South Jakarta, and 543 calls from East Jakarta. They also received calls from other areas in Jabodetabek.

Food Careline Services has distributed 1,860 servings of meals to 372 families in West Jakarta, 1,835 servings to 367 families in East Jakarta, and 1,760 servings to 352 families in South Jakarta. The distribution will continue for the next 10 days.

One of the beneficiaries, Sulastri who is a housewife, admitted that during the Emergency PPKM, it was difficult for her family to get food. Sulastri's husband who works as a construction worker has been out of work.

"During the Emergency PPKM, construction projects were halted. My family's livelihood depends on my husband," she explained in a statement received by the ACTNews Team, Wednesday (7/28/2021).

She expressed her thankfulness for the meal packages that she received from ACT. For her, this food aid is really helpful amid her family's financial struggle during the pandemic and activity restrictions.

"Hopefully this food aid will help our family," said Sulastri.

ACT Vice President Dwiko Hari Dastriadi explained that to use this service, people can dial 62800-1-165-228. The team will then immediately prepare meal packages cooked by Food Careline Services' partners. Once the meal is ready, the Humanity Bikers will pick it up to be delivered directly to the recipient's home.

“This service targets at least 2,000 incoming callers every day.  We maintain the quality of the food that we distribute, including its taste and nutrients. Hence, the food will not only satiate their hunger but also provide essential nutrients for them," concluded Dwiko.  []
