ACTNews, GAZA - Distribution of 5,000 food aid packages to the Gazans continued on Tuesday (26/11). Located in Rafah and Gaza City, the volunteers from the Indonesian Humanitarian Center delivered the food packages directly to the homes of the poor Gazans.

Andi Noor Faradiba from the Global Humanity Response (GHR) - ACT team reported that the distribution of the food aid had been carried out since last Friday (22/11) in the North Gaza region, Khan Younis, and Rafah. "To date, 2,245 people have received the food packages. Insha Allah, there will be 5,000 food packages from 100 tons of aid that we provide," Faradiba said.

The beneficiaries of this food aid distribution are victims of the Israeli attacks, poor families, and people with disabilities.

"We really appreciate the volunteers in Gaza who worked swiftly. Within two days, 100 tons of foodstuffs were packaged and sent to the IHC. The packaging took place on Saturday, and the packing began to be distributed on Sunday," said Faradiba. The food distribution will continue until Thursday (11/28).

"The deteriorating economy in Gaza and high unemployment rate make it very difficult for the Gazans to get food. The food insecurity also leads to lack of nutritious food among children, "said Faradiba.

Faradiba also emphasized that the food package distribution for this period marked the beginning of the winter aid to help the Palestinians to prepare for the upcoming winter. Faradiba hoped that the food package can ease the burden of poor families in Gaza, especially in the advent of winter. []
