Free Food Operation Brings Joy to Widows and Elderly in Sragen

As a form of care to the underprivileged people amid the Covid-19 pandemic, ACT and MRI Sragen distributed dozens of food packages to widows and the elderly.

ACTNews, SRAGEN – Various humanitarian actions during the Covid-19 pandemic are continuously carried out by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) including in Sragen, Central Java, Friday (9/17/2021).

Together with Relawan Masyarakat Indonesia (MRI) Sragen, ACT distributed dozens of food packages to underprivileged residents in RT 28 Dukuh Bugel, Ngrampal District, Sragen. The recipients were very grateful and thankful for the Waqf Rice and other food package assistance they recived.

“Thank you, ACT and the volunteers for helping the residents here. Once again, on behalf of the local residents, I want to thank ACT team. Hopefully, all of your activities will run smoothly and always be blessed with health to all of the team members,” said Parmin, Head of RT 28.

In its action in Sragen, ACT Sragen targeted the assistance to the underprivileged residents which mostly are widows and the elderly who don’t have income and are unable to make a living.

Alhamdulillah, today, we have distributed Waqf Rice and staple food package assistance including cooking oil, sugar, tea, and biscuits. Insha Allah, the assistance will be beneficial to the recipients in meeting their basic needs,” said Nining Ardianti from ACT Sragen Program team.

Nining added that the food package assistance to impoverished residents were thanks to the support from benefactors who have submitted their alms to ACT. “Insha Allah, the benefactors’ noble intentions can be rewarded multiple times in the afterlife,” she added.[]
