ACTNews, LANGKAT – Expanding the benefits of generosity for impoverished communities amid the Covid-19 pandemic continues to be carried out by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) through various humanitarian programs. Free Food Operation is one of them. This generous-supported program visited impoverished converts in Adin Tengah Village, Salapian District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. ACT and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Medan distributed free food packages to hundreds of converts.

Sakti Wibowo from the ACT Medan program team says the condition of converts in Adin Tengah Village is worrying and needs mutual attention. They live in remote areas with difficult road access for vehicles to pass.

Alhamdulillah, today, we can carry out a Free Food Operation for dozens of Muslim families in Adin Tengah Village. Their economic life is limited and relies solely on working as farmers and farm laborers. The converts here felt gratitude and happiness for these food packages,” said Sakti.

Sakti added, this Free Food Operation is a form of community solidarity that must always be fought for during the Covid-19 pandemic. This program has an impact on the economic life of the impoverished. "Insha Allah, this program is our joint effort to the community amid difficulties," he added.[]
