ACTNews, BANDUNG – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and MRI Bandung carried out another action of Free Meal Operation and Free Food Operation on Friday (7/30/2021). The assistance was distributed to underprivileged and self-isolating residents in Wates Village, Bandung Kidul District, Bandung City.

Hundreds of meal packages from Free Meal Operation were purchased from the surrounding wartegs (food stalls). In addition, the meals were also distributed to online taxis, elderlies, daily workers, and impoverished residents around the wartegs.

During the enforcement of level 4 Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM), Free Meal Operation has helped the owner of Warteg Sidamulya, Rahmid. PPKM policy has drastically deteriorated the income of Rahmid.

“The enforcement of Level 4 PPKM has drastically deteriorated my income. During my 28 years of running this warteg, these past two years are the most drastic decline of income I’ve ever faced due to the pandemic and PPKM. Thank you ACT for buying my food,” said Rahmid.

Rukanda, Head of Lembaga Perkumpulan Masyarakat (LPM) of Wates Village said that ACT’s Free Meal and Free Food Operations were very beneficial to his residents affected by PPKM. Many of his residents face difficulty earning their income due to the closing of surrounding factories.

Alhamdulillah, the assistance from generous benefactors can ease the burden of our residents. On behalf of myself and the association, I want to express my gratitude for these Free Meal Operation and Free Food Operation programs,” he concluded.[]
